May 28 - Saturday
7pm
Rainier Valley Ensemble Theatre presents
Shop Talk
It Will Get You Talking
On Saturday, May 28, the Rainier Valley Ensemble Theatre will present a
staged reading of a new play by Olympia writer, John Knold. Based on years
of first-hand experience working with convicted felons from around
Washington State, SHOP TALK centers on incarcerated youth. Provocative,
heartbreaking, humorous and sometimes shocking, SHOP TALK is an eye-opening
experience for the uninitiated.
There will be a mediated talk-back session with the playwright after the
reading. The play contains adult content and language and may not be
appropriate for children.
As always, RVET wants to make theatre accessible to everyone. Tickets for
this reading are "pay-what-you-can". We also believe in the work of local
writers and artists, and are pleased to bring this controversial play to the
stage. RVET is sponsored by SEED at the Rainier Valley Cultural Center.
