Placing A Classified Ad
Classified Ads are only $5 for up to 60 days, $10 for up to 6 months, and $15 for up to 12 months - and Employment Ads are free.
The easiest way to place a Classified Ad is by e-mail. Here's how:
1) In the Subject line of your e-mail type: Classified Ad
2) In the body text of the e-mail, please start with your name and phone number. We will not call you unless necessary. Chances are, you can place your ad entirely over the Internet. However, we do need this information just in case we need to contact you, and for our records.
3) Next, type your ad copy: How you would like your ad to appear.
You have up to 100 words, so take full advantage of that. No need to abbreviate.
Please Note:
DO NOT send this as a Word, ZIP, or any other form of file attachment, as we WILL delete your e-mail without reading it. (WE get 3 to 30 virus attachments per day) If you used a word processing program, then simply Copy and Paste the text from that program into the e-mail body text.
If an Employment Ad: Be sure to include full contact information, location, job requirements, experience needed, hours, benefits, pay, Full Time or Part Time, etc. Employment Ads are FREE to post at this
time.
If an Item or Items, Vehicle or Boat, House, or other For Sale Ad: Be sure to include all contact information, location, give a full description of the item or items and the asking prices for each.
If a
Garage Sale/Yard Sale Ad: You get up to 60 days for $5, so advertise your sale early!
Be sure to include the address, date(s) and hours of the sale. List as many of the items for sale as you care to, within your 100 word limit.
If an Apartment or House For Rent Ad: Be sure to include all contact information, location, give a full description of the apartment unit or house, and the costs involved: Monthly cost; if first and last month, or a damage deposit is required, and how much; are pets allowed; if a credit check is required, and how much that will cost; what is included (water, garbage, etc.); if off-street parking is available, etc.
One photo is included with your ad for free. You may attach the photo to your e-mail. Please use jpg or gif formats only, and try to keep the file size under 2 MB if possible. If you don't have photo editing software, or don't know how to reduce the size of the photo, please don't send the photo until you have contacted us. An additional photo is only $5 more for the duration of your ad.
If you'd like to include a photo, but don't have a digital photo that you can e-mail to us, you can mail your hard copy photo to the address listed under "Contact Us". Or, for only $5 more, we can come to you and take a digital photo for you (Seattle area only).
Then simply send the e-mail to us.
We will then contact you by e-mail about whether or not your classified ad is approved, and how to make payment. If payment is made online, your ad will be posted within 24 hours of our having recieved notification of payment transfer. If paid by check, it will be posted within 24 hours of payment having cleared (usually 2 or 3 business days after deposit date).

Placing A Prime Placement Banner Ad
Place your 120X60, 120X120, or 120X240 pixel banner ad on virtually every page of the Main site, or your 468X60 pixel banner ad on 1 to 4 pages, excluding
Home page (Main site is TheRainierValley.com, and does not include iShop, Shop, Wine Section, Mocha's Pet Pals, or other subdomains).

2) In the body text of the e-mail, please start with your name and phone number . We will not call you unless necessary. Chances are, you can place your Prime Placement Banner Ad entirely over the Internet. However, we do need this information just in case we need to contact you, and for our records.
3) Next, tell us about what you would like to advertise, whether Prime Placement #1, #2 or #3,
your preferred location & banner size, for how long you'd like to run the ad, the starting date, and the URL we will be directing to.
Please Note: DO NOT send this as a Word, ZIP, or any other form of file attachment, as
we WILL delete your e-mail without reading it. (WE get 3 to 30 virus attachments per day) If you used a word processing program, then simply Copy and Paste the text from that program into the e-mail body text.
You may attach a copy of your banner, if you have one. We allow jpg, gif, and animated gif banners. Maximum file size allowed is 100k. If you don't have a banner, we can create one for you for only $25.
Then simply send the e-mail to us.
We will then contact you by e-mail about whether or not your ad is approved, and how to make payment. If payment is made online, your Prime Placement Banner Ad will be posted within 24 hours of our having recieved notification of payment transfer, or on whatever your desired posting date is, if later. If paid by check, it will be posted within 24 hours of payment having cleared (usually 2 or 3 business days after deposit date), or on your desired starting date, if later.

Placing An Ad On iShop
Placing your advertisement by e-mail is easy. Here's how:
1) In the Subject line of your e-mail type: iShop Ad
2) In the body text of the e-mail, please start with your name and phone number . We will not call you unless necessary. Chances are, you can place your listing entirely over the Internet. However, we do need this information just in case we need to contact you, and for our records.
3) An iShop ad includes a text link, text description (up to 100 words), and up to 2 banners
(One, 88X31, and one 468X60 pixels). The format is as follows:

In all cases, we need the URL of your page you want us to link to, and the iShop page you wish to advertise on.
We will then contact you by e-mail about whether or not your iShop listing is approved, and how to make payment. If paid by check, it will be posted within 24 hours of payment having cleared (usually 2 or 3 business days after deposit date).

These can be complex and time consuming to create. As they will represent your business, church or organization online, much thought should be put into just what you want to tell your visitors, and how you want to say it, before you even start.
Before you e-mail us about creating a site for you, take some time to imagine how you would like it to look, what information you would like to present, and who your visitors are. Imagine the layout, color scheme, photos or graphics you would like to use, and how many pages you feel you need. Jot these ideas down on paper.
Once you have a good idea of what you want, then send us an e-mail with your name and phone number, and we'll give you a call. We can then discuss your available options, and the costs involved. It can take from a few days to several weeks, or even longer, to create a site.
