Directed by Tyrone D. Brown. Wreck the Airline Barrier is an exploration of new-age religion and middle-class race evasion rendered in a poly-vocal, chaotic style. It tells the simple story of three Americans - Stone, Sarah, and Steve - who wake up, drive to the airport and board a passenger flight headed over the Atlantic. Later on, the plane will crash. Fringe First Award winning play at the 1999 Edinburgh Theater Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.
"This is an absolutely phenomenal piece of work. Assorted plane staff and passengers lost in a world of slogans and trapped in an imploding society, grasps at whatever comes their way - everyday routine, racism, homophobia, self-help manuals - as their thoughts and words overlap and collide. The plane spins out of control, while its passengers juggle discourse of power and control. Searing, sadistic, crushing...utterly unmissable" - Three Weeks
